What to Expect
You will be in great hands at The Ballet Retreat, be assured that you can completely immerse yourself in dance
Daily warm-up. In a gentle 20 minute class, designed to ease you into your day, we will stretch out and strengthen your muscles and steadily raise your body temperature.
Daily Ballet Technique Class. This class is based on David's tried and tested method for adult ballet "beginners" and "beginners improvers" class. He has designed the class to encourage and nurture you and also guide you through classical technique as well as build your confidence.
Classical Repertoire. Learn the steps and style of some of the great 19th century ballets; think Swan Lake and the Sleeping Beauty. You will have the opportunity to really hone your skills in the repertoire and enjoy uncovering all the different characters.
Surprise Taster OR Master class This will be a taster class in a different style of dance to classical ballet. In a fun, relaxed environment we will move to a different beat or you will have the choice of a master class in an element of classical ballet that you would like to perfect *
Daily Cool down and Relaxation Class. You will be in great hands at The Ballet Retreat, be assured that you can completely immerse yourself in dance. Before you take your weary, exhilarated bodies home we will cool down and stretch out our muscles sufficiently to make sure you are ready for the next day of dance.
Lunch, snacks and drinks. We want you to feel completely at ease and nutured at The Ballet Retreat, so during your retreat we will provide you with a nutritious lunch, healthy snacks and drinks throughout the day. Please bring a refillable water bottle for use during class and throughout the day.
